This Privacy Policy explains how Ruff Ventures Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects personal data submitted through ruffventures.co.uk. We are committed to handling your information in accordance with the Data Protection (Jersey) Law 2018 (“DPJL”) and the supervisory regime of the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner (JOIC).

2. What we collect

We only collect personal data that you choose to send us through one of two forms on this website:

• Contact form - your name, email address, and the contents of your message.
• Mailing list form - your email address.

We do not run analytics or advertising trackers on this site. Our hosting provider (Vercel) automatically processes basic technical request data (IP address, user-agent, request time) in order to deliver the site - see "Third parties" below.

3. Lawful basis for processing

• Consent (Article 9(1)(a) DPJL) - for mailing list sign-ups. You may withdraw consent at any time by replying "unsubscribe" to any email or by emailing us.
• Legitimate interests (Article 9(1)(f) DPJL) - to respond to enquiries you send us through the contact form.

4. How we use your data

• To reply to your enquiry.
• To send you occasional updates if you have signed up to the mailing list.
• To keep simple records of correspondence for our own administrative purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Third parties (processors)

• Vercel Inc. - website hosting and serverless infrastructure. Vercel may process your data outside Jersey, including in the United States, under appropriate safeguards. See Vercel's privacy policy.
• Resend (Resend Inc.) - transactional email delivery used to forward form submissions to us, and a contact-list ("Audience") system used to store the email addresses of mailing-list subscribers. See Resend's privacy policy.

6. International transfers

Some of the processors above are located outside Jersey. Where this is the case, transfers are made on the basis of recognised safeguards under Part 8 of the DPJL (including standard contractual clauses, where relevant).

7. How long we keep your data

• Contact form submissions: retained for up to 24 months after the last meaningful correspondence, then deleted.
• Mailing list email addresses: retained until you unsubscribe.

8. Your rights under the DPJL

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate data corrected.
• Have your data erased ("right to be forgotten") where applicable.
• Restrict or object to certain processing.
• Withdraw consent at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with the Jersey Office of the Information Commissioner at jerseyoic.org.

9. Security

Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored in the email accounts of the data controller. We use industry-standard security practices but no method of internet transmission is 100% secure.

10. Cookies

This website does not set marketing or analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies may be set by our hosting provider for the purposes of serving the website.

11. Children

This site is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
